Audra Solutions and Anglia Ruskin University collaborate

Audra and Anglia Ruskin partnership

Press release - December 2025

Audra Solutions and Anglia Ruskin University collaborate on SecuraNext, an innovative next-gen AI security system for SMEs and households

Audra Solutions Ltd, a UK-based cybersecurity technology company in the Dotlines family, has partnered with Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) to develop SecuraNext, a next-generation AI-powered firewall-router designed to protect small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and households against emerging cyber threats.

The significance of the project has been recognised by the UK Government, with the the potential impact of the project being deemed worthy of a £50,000 grant from Innovate UK’s Growth Catalyst Early Stage: New Innovators programme.

The collaboration combines Audra Solutions’ commercial expertise in firewall, VPN, and network security products with ARU’s academic depth in AI, machine learning, and cybersecurity analytics. A dedicated research assistant from ARU will work alongside Audra’s technical team to deliver the AI module, ensuring the device is both market-ready and robust against sophisticated threats.

SecuraNext is a plug-and-play appliance that brings high-grade protection to environments not possessing dedicated IT teams. Managed through a simple mobile app, the system is designed to defend against AI-driven phishing, ransomware, deepfakes, and other emerging threats, while remaining affordable and offering the potential for futureproof scalability as requirements multiply.

Why it matters
• Protects SMEs and households from costly breaches and digital attacks
• Simplifies cybersecurity through an AI-powered device with intuitive mobile management
• Supports the UK’s most vulnerable digital communities with enterprise-level protection

The project will see the development of AI models for real-time threat detection, hardware prototyping for an integrated firewall-router, mobile app software development, pilot testing with SMEs and households, and knowledge transfer with ARU researchers.

Mike Lock, Director of IT, Operations and Technology at Dotlines UK, said “We are thrilled that Innovate UK has recognised Audra’s innovative stance with this grant. SecuraNext brings powerful cybersecurity into the hands of SMEs and households that need it most, without requiring IT expertise or a large budget. Collaborating with Anglia Ruskin University ensures our AI capabilities are cutting-edge and academically rigorous.”

Dr Ashim Chakraborty, AI lead at ARU, added “This partnership brings together academic excellence and commercial innovation. At ARU’s School of Computing and Information Science, we consistently work alongside industry partners to deliver research with meaningful real-world impact. We’re delighted to collaborate with Audra Solutions to develop AI-driven cybersecurity technologies that enhance protection for small businesses and households.”

Dotlines UK’s SecuraNext project will run for six months, culminating in pilot testing and deployment across SMEs and household environments.
